Privacy policy

Playmez is a free social games platform run by Anoop Kumar Chaudhary, an individual based in India, who decides how your data is used. Write to anupchaudhary1021@gmail.com with any question or request about your data.

Playmez uses virtual points only. Nothing is for sale, there are no ads, and we never ask for a phone number, email address, real name or payment card.

• Your account. The username, display name and avatar you choose, and your password stored only as a one-way hash. Guests get a generated name and no password.
• Your play. Points balance and its ledger, bets, moves, match results, XP, level, achievements, leaderboard places, tournaments, daily challenges, cosmetics, friends, clubs and referrals.
• Chat. Messages you send at tables and in the lobby, mentions, replies, and reports you file or that are filed about you.
• Sign-in and security. The IP address and browser or device description of each signed-in session, and failed sign-ins and abuse signals with their IP address.
• Notifications. If you switch them on, the delivery address your browser gives us for push notifications, your notification choices and a log of what was sent.
• Usage analytics. Which pages you open and game events such as starting or finishing a match, linked to a random player ID and whether you are a guest, plus error reports. Never chat text, names or session recordings.

Voice goes directly between players' devices (WebRTC) and never passes through or is stored on our servers. To connect, your device asks public STUN servers run by Google for its network address; on strict networks an encrypted relay may forward the audio without being able to listen to it. The browser asks for your microphone only when you tap Join.

• To run the games, settle results, keep balances and leaderboards, and show your profile to other players.
• To keep tables fair and safe: detect cheating and abuse, review reports, and mute or ban accounts.
• To send the notifications you switched on.
• To understand which games and features are used and to fix errors.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or build advertising profiles. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and the GDPR, we rely on your consent and on running the service you asked for.

Only the services that run Playmez for us, under their own data protection terms:

• Vercel hosts the website.
• Render hosts the game servers and database, in Singapore.
• PostHog processes usage analytics and error reports, in the United States.
• Google answers the STUN requests that connect voice chat.
• Your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers notifications you switched on.

Other players see your display name, avatar, level, public stats, leaderboard places and the messages you send. We may disclose data when the law requires it.

When you play a Playmez game inside another company's app or website, that partner tells us an ID for you and a display name. We send the partner your results, that ID and display name, never your Playmez username or balance. The partner's own privacy policy covers what it does with that information. A partner may also choose a Google font, which your device then loads from Google.

• A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. Playmez cannot work without it.
• Settings stored on your device, such as sound, language and dismissed tips.
• A PostHog cookie and storage entry that hold your random analytics ID.

• Table chat is deleted when the table closes, unless a message was reported, in which case it stays until the report is reviewed.
• Guest accounts are deleted with everything attached after 7 days without play.
• Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days.
• Records of what we sent to partner apps are deleted after 30 days.
• Your account and everything attached are deleted 24 hours after you delete it. Tables you hosted stay for the other players, without your name.
• Database backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted data disappears from them within 30 days.

Everything else is kept while your account exists.

• Change your display name and avatar, and switch notifications on or off, in your profile.
• Delete your account and data at any time on the delete account page, in the app or on the web.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by writing to anupchaudhary1021@gmail.com from any address; tell us your username. We answer within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent by deleting your account, and complain to your data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India, if you think we mishandled your data.

Playmez is for people aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will delete it.

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the database is limited to the operator. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Our servers and service providers are in Singapore, the United States and other countries outside yours. We only use providers that protect personal data to the standard the law requires.

When we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for significant changes we tell signed-in players in the app before they take effect.
